Siva is Alenka's dog.
She's Croatian sheepdog with a "fault". The color of her coat (black and tan) doesn't agree with breed standard that allows only black
coat. But she is typical representative of her breed in all other
aspects.
Siva comes from
Mawlch
kennel from Cita's second litter. She's 3/4 of a sister to Grom -
their fathers are brothers from the same litter. Despite that some of the
breed characteristics are common to both of them, her character is quite
different from her older brother's. On the first impression she is shy
and gentle bitch, but she turns into a little devil as soon as she
familiarizes a little. She adores the family people specially her boss Alenka. She's reserved and distrustful of unfamiliar people and she
sometimes barks at them wildly. She's very distrustful of any novelty. It
looks like she has quite pronounced herding instinct and as a pup she often
charged at moving animals and people. Also she really likes to nip,
specially
if the "victim" turns it's back on her. Alenka had quite some
troubles getting her attention and concentration because Siva is very
aware of her surroundings and she perceives every little move. Besides
she quickly got bored with repetitions. But because Siva is very fond
of food and ball (not necessary in that order), she eventually learned a
bunch of tricks and ten month old she finally decided that cooperating
with Alenka is actually fun. Since than they rapidly progressed
particularly with the skills needed at the agility course.
Now they compete in agility
at a highest level - level 3. Occasionally they compete with frisbee in
various disciplines and in their "free time" they practice obedience
exercises.
